Brent Lanier

MURFREESBORO, TN

From Jackson, Mississippi, Brent Lanier has been fishing for forty years; however, he has been kayak fishing for four. He enjoys kayak fishing for the thrill of being dragged around by a big fish and the accessibility of a small boat. His tournament experience includes qualifying in the KBF National Championship, placing second in the MSKA Flood Relief National Online Tournament, placing fourth in the May 2017 KBF Trail Event on Lake Chickamauga, and placing sixth in the July 2018 KBF Trail Kentucky Lake. He is the tournament director for Central Tennessee Kayak Anglers, a board member for the Kayak Anglers’ Society of Tennessee, and he hosts an “Intro to Kayak Bass Tournament Fishing” event for beginners who are trying to learn the sport. When asked about his favorite kayak fishing memory, he said the following:

“My favorite fishing memory would be a trip to Toledo Bend with my mom and dad back around 1980. After my dad’s tournament we wore out some bluegill in a spot he found. Massive bluegill and we caught well over 100!”

.

“I may not remember what I had for dinner last night, but I can tell you what lake I was on, time of the day/year and what bait I was using when I caught my personal best fish. Loving what you do is happiness!”
