Laurie Sizemore

Laurie Sizemore, Virginia born but now a Blue Ridge, GA, resident, has been fishing since she can remember. “From being carried in a backpack by my parents while they fly fished, to my great grandad teaching me how to paddle the old metal boat at his pond – fast forward 30 years and I’ve fished every state I’ve ever been to, whether saltwater or freshwater.” While Laurie is not a tournament angler, she has a love of getting outdoors and reconnecting with her roots. Her favorite fish to catch are smallmouth, trout, and brim. She’s only been serious about kayak fishing recently, but she feels it brings her a sense of independence and keeps her humble. It also gives her better opportunities to photograph the great outdoors. For Laurie, the community of kayakers and the ability to be on the water anywhere is what it’s all about.
