2018 Kayak Angler’s Choice Awards – SS127 Wins Kayak of the Year

The Kayak Anglers Choice Awards (KACA) is a joint venture between YakAngler.com and the kayak fishing community. Each year kayak anglers from across the globe nominate and vote for their favorites in various categories like Kayak Angler of the year, Kayak of the year, and more. The KACA are the only kayak fishing specific awards driven solely by kayak anglers. Nominees are chosen by the kayak fishing community, and winners were announced on Thursday, November 29th.

The SS127 was our first kayak and set the bar high for future Bonafide models. Although it hadn’t hit the market yet, the SS127 was nominated for the 2017 KACA. With only retail buyers and attendees of ICAST, Paddlesports Retailer, and a few other events having the opportunity to test out the SS127 the kayak fishing community as a whole hadn’t had the opportunity to test and really understand what Bonafide and our flagship fishing kayak, the SS127, was all about. Fast forward a year later with a tremendous amount of SS127 sold and in the field we knew we had a chance for the Kayak of the Year for the 2018 KACA. One of the members of our pro team notified us about 2 weeks ago about the SS127 making it to the last round of voting and we knew we had a chance. After all votes were cast and the results were calculated the Bonafide SS127 ended up winning 1st for Kayak of the Year.  This year has been amazing and the amount we have been able to accomplish in such a short time frame is unbelievable. Not only were we launching two new kayaks we were also laying the foundation for our company and our future.  We couldn’t have done it without the support from our retailers and the kayak fishing community. We set out to design and build the most fishable kayaks on the market and the SS series was just the start.

We would like to thank everyone who voted in the Kayak Angler’s Choice Awards, as well as YakAngler.com for giving the kayak angler community a chance to vote on the best anglers, products, and media for the year.
