Drew Steele
Hailing from Fork Shoals, SC, Drew has been fishing for the past twenty-three years. He started his kayak fishing career five years ago and fishes to be able to free his mind, to relax after a long day, and to have the opportunity to appreciate nature. He says that while kayak fishing is challenging (and at time difficult), it gives him a completely different perspective than other kinds of fishing. Having a smaller boat enables you to get to places that bigger boats can’t, getting you to new waters and fishing spots other people can’t get to. He says, “to sum it up, kayak fishing is not just a sport for me, it’s my life”. In addition, having the opportunity to be in such a great community is a bonus.
Starting his tournament career in 2018, he has since then fished many tournaments with the Palmetto State Fishing Club. He took home one win, two top threes, three top tens – not to mention online Tourney X tournaments. His favorite fishing memory is bank fishing when he was twenty-one years old. He caught his personal best of 9.7 lbs using a Texas rig and cotton candy chartreuse Zoom U – Tail work.
“Being part of this team and working with everyone involved has shown me the true definition of #LivetheStoryYouWanttoTell.”
